Celebrate clay and community with a fun day of muddy festivities in our new home in South Kensington! Join us for hands-on activities for all ages, wheel throwing demos, a group sculpture extravaganza, artist projects, an ice cream social, and music! LOCATION: 1425 N. ALL-DAY ACTIVITIES 12 PM - 5 PM

Guest Artist Project with Ehren Tool
Watch as Ehren Tool throws as many cups as possible, and then you will decorate cups that represent Veterans' service. Veterans and their families are welcome to bring insignia to make molds or use the ones on hand.

Guest Artist Project with Robin Williams-Turnage
Watch teaching artist Robin Williams-Turnage, demonstrate traditional Nigerian Pottery techniques. 

Clay Necklaces with Nitza Walesca
Create a necklace with beads and clay pendants by teaching artist Nitza Walesca. Quantities are limited

Clay Animation
Create and animate clay characters using the art of stop motion. One person or a group can create characters, a storyline and bring your creations to life.

Pottery Unplugged
Try our people-powered pottery wheel. Find a partner to pedal power the bicycle wheel while you try your hand at throwing on the pottery wheel!

Group Sculpt
Help turn 1,000 pounds of clay into an inspiring collaborative work of art inspired by Roberto Lugo’s mural on the south side of the new building.

Super Bowls
Transform a clay slab into a special bowl designed by you! The Clay Studio will glaze, fire, and have your bowl ready to pick up in a few weeks.

Clay, Play, Read
Fill a larger-than-life doll house with clay objects and characters, and stay and play with your creations!                                                                                                         Dig treasures and artifacts out of clay in this sensory play-based activity.                                                                                                                                                  Activities best suited for children ages 3-6.

Sgraffitto Tiles
Express yourself! Make and decorate a ceramic tile using colored slips and the sgraffito (scratching) method.

Picture Perfect
Decorate a handmade picture frame for your favorite photo!
