Nicolle Valencia is an Afro-Latina ceramic artist and teaching artist based in Philadelphia. She discovered her love of clay a few years ago while serving as a resident teaching artist at Walter B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, where she integrated ceramics into lessons rooted in agriculture, science, and creativity. Since then, she has taught ceramics and other visual arts through local organizations including Fleisher Art Memorial and Outlaw Arts.
Following her time at Saul, Nicolle worked at a local urban farm developing and leading community programs. This experience deepened her connection to the land, storytelling, and community, themes that continue to shape her artistic practice. Her ceramic work is inspired by the vibrant colors, organic forms, and intricate patterns found throughout the natural world.
