Ivy Jewell (b. 1995) was born and raised in Iowa. Their work explores their family. They investigate the relationship between trauma and site; linking generational poverty to transgenerational health issues resulting from unregulated pollution and pesticide exposures from the agrochemical industry. They mine excess metals and minerals that have been biomineralized in their body, that they then use as material in their glaze and clay recipes.

Ivy obtained their B.F.A. in Ceramics and Museum Studies at the University of Iowa (2023), and their M.F.A. in Ceramics from Tyler School of Art and Architecture (2025) Ivy received the Emerging Artist Scholarship at Pilchuck Glass School in 2023 and their work was selected and awarded in NCECA’s National Juried Student Exhibition in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Their research is featured in the Dare to Discover Campaign, The Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present (ASAP15), and the Studio Potter Journal.
