Porcelain Jewelry Workshop with Melanie Sherman
This one-day workshop sponsored by the Society of North American Goldsmiths conference will explore clay as a way to create unique ceramic jewelry through demonstrations, sketchbook exercises, discussions, and hands-on practice. Melanie will share her individual way of making one-of-a-kind porcelain jewelry, which are hand painted and paired with precious metals. We will plan out our forms on paper and talk about different materials, function, and wearability. We'll explore several components of jewelry making in a hands-on approach during this workshop, putting together clay and metal elements to create a wearable and unique piece of art.
