National Juried Group Exhibition: Steven P. Bradford, Roy Cartwright, Mitchell Messina, Joyce Nagata, Janet Nesteruk, Greg Pitts, Joann Schnabel, David G. Wright

The artists were selected from over a hundred and fifty applicants who responded to the Clay Studio's annual artist call. The gallery committee of the Studio chose the exhibiting artists both on the basis of artistic excellence and a unifying theme. In this instance the committee responded to the abundance of works exploring the diversity of form as opposed to function in contemporary ceramic art. 

Although several of the artists allude to the vessel tradition, their works have been abstracted beyond the realm of usability. Others juxtapose diverse elements in collages and installations, which seem to speak simultaneously to the harmony and diversity of the forms.
