An exhibition grounded in collaboration, “Push” showcases the versatility of ceramics through six complementary installations that questions assumptions and expectations around black art. Six artists — John R. Hamilton III, Rich Brown, Jody Lewis, Stephen Phillips, Donte J. Moore, and Delvin M. Goode — will work together, offering encouragement and benefitting from friendly competition as they elevate their respective practices, share their love of art, and create inspiration and opportunities for others through community engagement events. Each artist has consistently demonstrated their skills in clay and have proven track records of sharing their knowledge and helping others. The title “Push” exemplifies their dedication to supporting one another, a powerful spirit of accountability that manifests in artwork; opening new doors and sparking new dreams.
