  We offer classes year round in handbuilding, wheel-throwing, casting and glazing, for people of all ages, from beginner to advanced. Our classes are taught by top practitioners.

Eroticlay

Feb 6th - Mar 1st, 2015

With the exhibition Eroticlay, The Clay Studio carries on the tradition of erotic imagery in art that can be traced back to the Paleolithic Era, through the explicit imagery of Ancient Greek pottery, the racy images of Indian miniature paintings, Japanese shunga, objects found in European cabinets of curiosity and many other zones of the art world. This “modest” exhibition of immodest work will be shown in our compact Bonovitz gallery. A veritable smorgasbord of sexual expression in a rainbow of flavors will lurk, titillatingly behind a red velvet curtain. Curated by our former Curator of Artistic Programs, Garth Johnson, this is one exhibition that needs to be seen to be believed, but one that viewers won’t be able to “unsee.”
