New Work by Birdie Boone
Nov 10th - Nov 30th, 2025
This body of work addresses time. This deconstruction of time is represented by shifts in my work cadence through form, material, and process, as I mark the ebb and flow of time with each piece. Winter is the theme, prompted loosely in its title, Wonderland. Exemplified here are archetypal objects that can be tracked through time as iterations that connect past to present. In the absence of heat, covered spaces further mark the winter season. More subtly, the glaze layers manifest variable surface qualities based on their application thickness and time in the heat. Bookended by fall and spring, winter is a time of reflection marked in my brain like a moonlit snowy night. These objects are meant to invite contemplation and reflection for the user.
