The work of forty students at The Clay Studio will be exhibited in a new show, opening June 18 and running through July 16. A variety of clay bodies, from low-fire to raku, gives the viewer an idea of the large range of talent embodied in this student work. Brightly-colored low-fire pieces speak of the West Coast trend to more fanciful work while raku-fired handbuilt and wheelthrown forms are enhanced by their smoky surfaces. The potters love of traditional stoneware is obvious in the wheelthrown vessels.
