Artist Statement from 1988:

The forms I make are animated hybrids of pots I have come into contact with through books, junk collecting, museums and everyday life. The surface treatments and colors activate and enrich these forms and add other levels of associations. My work attempts to celebrate the necessity of frviolity and decoration in everyday life.
