Arista is an artist with roots in Virginia, currently planted in Philadelphia. They playfully paint personal pictures on pinched and thrown porcelain pots. These vessels hold sweet sensations from observation: summer snacks sticking to teeth, chasing a football on a beach, frozen knuckles, a kiss. Through wobbly drawings over dainty forms, Arista uses porcelain as a sketchbook to play with goof & grace.
Arista has been a resident artist at Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts and Fish Factory Creative Centre. They have assisted classes at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and Haystack Mountain School of Craft and taught workshops at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore Clayworks, and Fish Factory Creative Centre of Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland. They graduated with their BFA in ceramics from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2023.
