Our Community
Work by The Clay Studio community
February 3 through February 26, 2012Harrison, Reed Smith, Bonovitz Galleries
Opening Reception, First Friday, Feb 3, 5-9pm
This is the second year that The Studio has hosted Our Community. This exhibition brings together the entire Clay Studio Community, representing the creative expression of individuals intimately involved with the organization as employee, trustee, faculty, Resident Artist, Associate, Work Exchange, or student. Though each is unique in its mission and audience, all programs of The Clay Studio are highlighted, including: the Claymobile Outreach Program, the School, the Resident Artist Program, the Associate Program, and the Work Exchange Program. A jury of individuals, representing the previously mentioned programs selected the works on exhibit.
At The Clay Studio, incredible creative energy is housed under a singular roof. Our building serves us well in almost every way but one. Our space is on four separate floors of two historic buildings located side by. Each space on each floor is specific to one of the Studio's programs. Though there are access points between the two buildings and between the four floors, program participants generally remain on "their" floor. In an effort to showcase all of our parts and bring together the various individuals who contribute to the richness of the whole of our organization, Our Community was conceived. Please join us in celebration of The Clay Studio community.
