I came to clay less than 2 years ago with my first enrollment at the Clay Studio. Since then I've been hooked. Originally seeking the therapy of wheel work and to create objects for personal use, the depth and breadth of the craft have pulled me in.

My work is at present, exclusively wheel thrown and intended for daily use. In an increasingly disposable culture, the lure and pleasure of using and making one's own dishes has particular significance for me.

Aesthetically I strive for a quiet elegance in my forms, drawing inspiration from various Asian pottery traditions as well as current craft potters worldwide. During the journey from thrown form to final glazed piece, I learn from both happy and unhappy "accidents" that occur and take that information forward with me as I continue to hone my craft.
